Community Leaders Endorse Marie

Greetings!

Community leaders, Dr. Gabino Aguirre, Santa Paula Councilmember and Chair of Community Action of Ventura County (our official poverty-fighting agency) and Dr. Roseann Mikos, Councilmember, City of Moorpark, have endorsed Marie in the June 8 Democratic primary election in District 24.

Said Aguirre, "Marie Panec is devoted to creating opportunities to improve people's lives. It is common sense to endorse someone like Marie to serve in Congress because that is exactly what she will do when she gets there- work hard to create jobs and educational opportunities for the people of our district. Marie is as dedicated to serving the community as anyone I know."

Dr. Gabino Aguirre is serving his second term on the City Council of Santa Paula. Aguirre served as Mayor in 2004. Aguirre has been a resident of Santa Paula for over 30 years and is a retired high school principal.

Moorpark City Mayor Pro Tem, Roseann Mikos, (also a Ph.D.), is a 29-year Moorpark resident and homeowner. She is a career business woman and a lifelong educator (30+ years) who has worked at all levels from Kindergarten through University.

"Marie Panec backs up a commitment to creating opportunities with a strong record of service to our communities, and the world”, said Mikos. “Having personally worked with Marie, at Moorpark College in science/technology program development; and, as a board member at Community Action of Ventura County, I know that Marie understands the link between ALL education and jobs and that vocational education is just as important as academic education. Marie knows our district and walks the walk of a genuine public servant. I'm happy to endorse her.”

Reflecting on the endorsements, Marie had this to say, “I am very thankful and greatly encouraged by the support of these two well-respected and distinguished community leaders. They are allies in devotion to serving the public. Service to the community is a core value which I take as a sacred duty.”

Taken together with the endorsements of Board of Education members last week, the rising tide of support from respected educators and community leaders is a clear sign of recognition of Marie as the one candidate in this race with proven experience and qualifications to lead in Congress.
