Dear Friends,
I invite you to join me in something that’s bigger than all of us. I’m asking you to take part in creating opportunity for the citizens of Congressional District 24, here in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, and throughout our country.
I am asking for your support and your vote in the June 8, 2010 Democratic Primary.
Opportunity built this great nation and I believe that opportunity will fuel the next wave of prosperity. If we make the right choices, creating opportunities for meaningful work, our local communities will thrive.
Our family has lived in this district for 23 years. My husband and I have raised two daughters who are now college students.
As a community leader serving the public for 20 years as a community college science instructor, K-12 board of education member and non-profit community action board member, I have broad experience and the expertise needed to lead the change necessary in Congress for a better economic future.
Too many of today's youth miss the opportunity for an education that would allow them to provide, long term, for themselves and their families. Access to the middle class is increasingly limited by lack of access to an affordable, high quality education. More and more families fail in their struggle to live the American Dream.
What exactly is Elton Gallegly doing about all of this?
I am running for U.S. Congress in the 24th District because we need leaders who use common sense, who understand the critical link between a trained work force and a vibrant economy. Science and technology have been key economic drivers in this country since its inception.
We must clear the way for strong partnerships between our science and technology industries and the local schools. *Take ownership of this campaign for common sense in Congress.
Santa Barbara and Ventura counties need a responsible and responsive representative in Washington, one with integrity and the ability to push the 24th congressional district's agenda while collaborating in the revitalization of the nation. I welcome the challenge and have a background that has prepared me to meet the challenge.
