Campaign Kickoff
Braving heavy rains, an overflow crowd of volunteers and supporters of Marie Panec for Congress gathered at the home of Min Gu and John Parker in Moorpark this past Saturday, to celebrate a campaign kickoff organizing event with Marie, good food and spirited conversation.

Marie addressing an enthusiastic crowd
Said Mr. Baker, who introduced Marie, “When Marie decided to run for Congress, I was struck by the boldness of it. But it’s perfect for Marie, who is a tireless worker and always thinking about what can be done for the betterment of people’s lives.”
Marie, a 23 year resident of the district, is a community leader, an elected member of the Oak Park School District Board of Education and a science professor at Moorpark Community College.
Marie was ebullient over the good crowd that turned out. “By claiming a piece of this campaign, you are energizing a movement towards restoring real representation in Congress and creating opportunity for all of us.” She went on to say, “It is inspiring to see you all stepping up to get this thing done.”
Combining celebration with getting the work of the campaign underway, members of the volunteer staff and campaign leadership team came forward and engaged the gathering in strategies to spread the campaign’s message.
There was a lively exchange as volunteers brainstormed about how to be most effective in getting the word out to the voters.
